West Virginia Session II Performance Based Training – March 5-7

The Optimization Program continues to collaborate with the West Virginia Bureau of Public Health (WVBPH) to provide Performance Base Training (PBT) to drinking water treatment operators from seven Public WaterSystems (PWSs).  Focused on improving turbidity removal, this training was the second in a series of six sessions designed to provide PWS personnel with the skills necessary to optimize performance from their filtration plants.  This project also serves to transfer PBT facilitator and trainer skills to the WVBPH in support of ongoing implementation by the state program.

PWS participants found the training materials very relevant to daily plant performance issues and they adopted specific approaches to investigate performance problems before the next training session in June, 2012. (Ouro Koumai US EPA, TSC).
